Akşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ender Kalkan, who published a message on the occasion of 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, reminded that the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gifted this historical day to young people as a holiday, and said that the picture of the bright future of our country will be drawn by the hands of young people.

Mayor Kalkan included the following views in his message:
 
“Mustafa Kemal Atatürk went to Samsun on May 19, 1919, lit the fire of our struggle for independence and gifted this meaningful day to our youth as a holiday.
 
Ataturk saw the future in the hands and hearts of young people and always trusted them. In the light of this thought, we know that the guarantee of Turkey's future and the architects of good days are our young people.
 
On the anniversary of this meaningful day when the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk started the struggle for independence on the path to establishing the indivisible integrity, unity and solidarity of our country, we wish a happy 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and once again express our gratitude to our veterans and martyrs. "I remember him with mercy."
