Ender Kalkan, Chairman of Akşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, made evaluations about Anuga 2023 Food Fair.

President Kalkan; “As it is known, Anuga, the world's largest food fair, is held every two years. The fair, which was held this year to reopen its doors two years later between 4-8 October 2025, ended successfully.
 
At the fair held this year; All evaluations about the fair, where 7,900 food producing companies or food-related institutions from 118 countries participated by opening stands and approximately 140 thousand people from 200 countries visited, agree that it was an effective fair. Food producers and exporters participating from Turkey also share this opinion.
 
Our country rose to third place with the highest number of participating companies among the remaining 117 countries, excluding host Germany (it was fourth in 2021 and fifth in 2019). Nearly 400 companies from Turkey participated in the fair, 286 of which were in the 'National Participation Area' and 105 of which participated individually. When companies with headquarters in Germany or other European countries, such as Suntat and Yörem, are counted, this number is seen to be well over 400. Anuga actually hosts 10 fairs held simultaneously regarding the food industry. The fair, which was held with the slogan '10 fairs under one roof', included sub-sections of the sector from organic food, beverages, meat products to frozen foods, and in all of these areas, Turkey was represented both with its own national participation area and with individual participating companies.
 
Akşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the fair between 7-11 October 2023, with 25 members as visitors and 2 registered members as participants. Our members had a fair and business trip that was beneficial both commercially and in terms of knowledge and experience. Our members' important conclusions from the fair visit: "Sustainability is in the Foreground at the Fair", "We Should Give Up the Concept of Contract Manufacturing and Focus on Branding", "We Should Continue Working to Open to World Markets", "We Should Focus on Branding", "We Should Reduce Costs and Become Competitive in the World Again", "We Should Focus on World Markets" We must continue working to open up.”
 
Kalkan Fruits and Kesebetler Food stand, which was a participant at the Anuga 2023 fair held in Germany, was visited extensively throughout the fair. As Akşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we were very happy that our stands received so much attention during the fair. We hope that the number of participants who will open stands from our region in other international fairs will increase.” said.
 
President Kalkan; “The overseas business trip we planned was not limited to the fair visit, but also included meetings with established company owners doing business in Germany at the meeting held with MÜSİAD. Our members were given the opportunity to exchange opinions on important issues such as business opportunities in the German market and taxation. Our Board Member Fatih Koç presented a plaque on behalf of our Chamber to MÜSİAD Deputy Chairman Oğuz Korumtaş for the information they provided about the German market and their hospitality. On the Dutch leg of the business trip, our members were given information about the Dutch cooperative system, land layout and cheese farms. World famous Dutch cheeses with a visit to a cheese farm; Information was given about Gouda, Edam, Maasdam, Leerdammer and Leyden cheese types and their production stages, marketing, distribution and branding.
 
Each of the food companies participating in our Chamber's international business trip program with Overseas Business Trip Support from KOSGEB has the opportunity to benefit from 60 percent of the upper limit of support provided per business for a business trip abroad and a maximum of 45 thousand TL. In this sense, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the preparation and realization of the overseas business trip.” made his statements.
